Complete Men's mission is to help, support and inspire men of all ages to reach their full potential - to be fully engaged in their own lives, and in those of their families and communities.
We achieve this by providing individual support and programs for men to engage in men's groups and related personal growth activities.
The Complete Men Foundation is a charity registered with the ACNC and has DGR status with the ATO.
We have Guiding Principles which underpin our decisions in what we do and how we work.
Our mission is simple - supporting and inspiring men.
Our programs are evidence-based and delivered under supervision by qualified facilitators.
We help men to be more grounded and connected with themselves and others - freeing up a lot of energy normally wasted on self doubt and keeping others at arms length. We work on making it safe for men to remove the masks they wear to meet others expectations.
This freed up energy can then be put towards being an authentic and purposeful man - a man valued by himself and his community.
Men who have participated in these programs report back on a better quality and direction of life, as well as greatly improved relationships with families, friends, communities and most importantly - themselves. They also report discovering tools to overcome their tendency to isolate, or run the "go-it-alone" program.
OUR HISTORY & PEOPLE
Complete Men commenced operations in 2015 by a community of men based on QLD's Gold Coast and Northern NSW.
Our founder Tim Fisk's passion for self-growth in men's groups has become his purpose in life. After a spectacular mid-life crisis involving addiction, bankruptcy and mental illness, Tim has found men's groups to be the mainstay to his recovery. He now facilitates groups as part of his ongoing personal growth. Tim has a Diploma in Counselling and uses his enthusiasm and considerable organisational skills to co-ordinate our various programs, promote them to the men in our community and help new men into groups and other personal growth programs.
The Getting Real workshop was initially developed with and supervised by Gary Simpson, who was president of the Mens Health & Wellbeing Association in its early years and co-developed their Common Ground behaviour change program. It has since evolved under the direction of John Imbrogno, a rite of passage specialist and local menswork legend.
The Elders Way program was initially run in Bali and developed by Wes Carter (OAM) and Peter Efford from the Menswork Project in WA. It has since evolved with the support of John Broadbent from Man Unplugged.
The Building Better Fathers groups and workshops were jointly developed by Adam Dreyer from Agile Support Co-ordination and Bowen Miller from the Trinity Family Support Network.
Our Weekly Mens Groups are co-facilitated by a team of dedicated men who volunteer their time and resources and experience their own personal growth by helping and inspiring other men to experience their own.
In early 2023, Powerhouse Programs became part of our Charity, and operate as an independent business unit under a sociocratic governance model. Powerhouse was founded in 2009 by Andy Roy and Stephen Halsall, and offers workshops and camps for teenagers and their families to optimise their transition from childhood to young adulthood.
ABOUT THE DIRECTORS
Tim Fisk – Director and Founder
Tim has a magnetic passion for the personal growth and sense of belonging he enjoys in menswork, groups and workshops. These helped him get through to the other side of his version of mid-life crisis, involving a marriage breakdown, depression, anxiety, alcohol addiction, bankruptcy and even a suicide attempt.
This uncomfortable set of experiences led Tim to discovering his gift of organising groups and events and along the way he became a professional facilitator and program developer with leading personal growth, recovery and suicide prevention organisations.
Tim brings with him a passion for his core values of belonging, contribution, wellbeing and personal growth. He uses these values and his mid-life experience of their shadow opposites to model vulnerability in the groups he leads, making them a safe place for other men to take off their armour, remove their masks and be accepted for who they really are.
Tim’s previous career was in Business Development and Marketing, where he staged corporate events in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. More recently he has become qualified in Counselling, Mental Health First Aid, Suicide Prevention and Rites of Passage Program Management and Facilitation.
Tim lives on the Gold Coast and is a proud father of twin adult sons.
Sean Sampson – Director and Facilitator
Sean’s first involvement with Complete Men was as a participant, so he relishes the opportunity to now give back and aid men going through their own turmoil in life.
Drawing on his professional corporate experience as well as being a father himself, Sean loves to find a connection with men attending the various Complete Men offerings and seer them experience their own growth.
Professing to never have all the answers, Sean only offers to accompany men on their journey as they find their own answers as they learn to grow through personal challenges.
